First Class of Eben Pagan's Self-Made Wealth Program

Despite my elbow hurting like hell I was excited about Eben's first lesson of the Self-Made Wealth Program, a great bonus added to the Ignition Program.

I enjoyed this video clip so much that I wanted to share it with you too as a great example of success. This father and son are successful on so many levels, I believe. Their relationship and their interplay is the perfect example of relational success. Enjoy it!

Mike Filsaime’s Quote

I have no idea if Mike Filsaime is the one who said this but he is the one I’ve heard it from.

“I'd rather learn from the successes of others than from my own mistakes.”

I think this is how you get even more successful, even faster and it’s pretty much how I thought when I decided to take Eben Pagan’s Ignition program.

Ignition Program

I have been thinking about it for the last three days. I really wanted to go the Ignition program but I missed the deadline for the scholarship application. By listening to Eben’s videos about the program I thought that maybe I could, on my own, use that information to make more order in the overwhelming information about Internet Marketing and making money online. I told to my self

“Sorin, right now you can’t really pay for the program because of your 2Brazil project so just do the best of the situation and create your own program for yourself. It might not be as good as the Ignition program but it will be better than not doing anything.”

However I couldn’t let go thinking about Ignition and feeling that this is a good opportunity not only to learn but to learn from Eben Pagan,one of the best, with the possibility to ask questions and get complete and reality proved answers. I also couldn’t let go thinking about the Self-Made Wealth Video Training Program. I really want it this program too.

So finally I came to the conclusion that money comes, money goes and I will find a way to get back the money for the Ignition program so that I will still fulfill my 2Brazil project. Actually paying for Ignition might be a good reason to work even harder during the program so that I will make at least the money I took from my other project.

So I did it, I paid my fee and I look forward to starting the course.

Maybe you should do the same. Here is the link:

And the winners are.....

Eben Pagan has announced the winners for the scholarships to the Ignition program. More than 450 people applied and in his generous manner Eben offered not three but ten scholarships.
The chosen ones and the reasons for Eben’s choices are presented on this link:

http://blog.getignition.com/2009/04/scholarship-winners-announced-a-change-of-plan.php

The receivers of the scholarship are 4 women and six men. I think this is interesting as I believe that of the 450 applicants less than 100 were women. I do not know if gender was something that Eben took in consideration but it doesn’t matter. Personally, by looking at the top people in Internet Marketing, I think that there is plenty of space for more women.

Eben did a great job in clearly explaining why he chose these individuals, and I think that his choices say a lot about his values.

I wish I was one of the winners but it seems that I messed up and I missed that there was an earlier deadline for applying than what I thought was the deadline. My application was not taken in consideration I believe, because it is not published among the other applications on the Ignition blog. So for me there is at least one lesson to learn in this. It is good to wait, just don’t wait too long…. Another lesson is: Ask if things are not clear….

Well… I am disappointed but…

Congratulations to the winners! I wish you all SUCCESS!

Personally I will follow Eben’s advice for those who haven’t been chosen: I will stay committed to my goals and visions!

Ignition Application

Eben Pagan is going to give away 3 scholarships to his new Ignition program, including ALL of the bonus stuff! I thought about it, I want that scholarship and I just applied for it with this video bellow. I also wrote a transcript of the information in the video just to make sure he will see my application one way or another. My way of being proactive :)

Hello Eben,

Over 450 applicants!!!!!! Only 3 scholarships!!!!!!

E X C I T I N G!!!!!!

(the text bellow is a transcript of my video application that can be seen at www.proactive4success.com/blog)

I am Sorin Raduta and this is my application for one of the scholarships for the Ignition program.

It is the 13th of April 2009 and during the last 6 days I have been thinking about applying for one scholarship. I knew I wanted it from the moment I saw your generous offer and I also wanted to see who the other applicants are. I wanted to discover what makes me different compared to them. Here is what I found out.

First of all I really took my time with this. I wanted to be sure that I will give one of the best applications.

Second, I put my application on video. I think this is proof of courage because it is also very risky with my broken English. This will also be seen not only by you but also for a lot of other people who might have different opinions about how I talk, how I look and about what I wear. The video is also proof for more originality and creativity compared with the traditional letter (or blog comment).

Last but not least I am different from many of the other applicants because I act out of conviction not out of desperation or need. If this is better or worse is up to you to decide.

Who I am and what I am doing currently:

¤ 37 years old male, living in Sweden together with my wife and our teenage daughter

¤ behavioral analyst working as a counselor manly for violent men

¤ an intelligent, educated, motivated and compassionate individual

Why I want this scholarship:

¤ because I want to participate in your Ignition program and I do not have the money to pay for it at this point in time. The money I have will go into a personal project I started for two years ago and I want to finish that project as I planned from the start (www.metrobloggen.se/2brazil)

¤ because I want you, Eben, to teach me, coach me and mentor me to achieve success with my Internet business. I also hope that this program will make some order out of the chaos of Internet Marketing that I created in my head during the last three months.

¤ because I want to turn around some of my limiting beliefs about money and financial wealth and I believe that your program will help me with that too.

I want this scholarship because I want to create the conditions for inevitable success with my Internet business.

What I will do with the money I will earn as a result of being a part of the program:

I could tell you that I will save the planet, but that would be a lie. I believe in improving the world by improving one individual, one family and one business at a time. So with the money I will:

¤ improve the quality of life of my family and of myself

¤ evelop my business even further

¤ improve the quality of life of at least one more child of this planet beside my own daughter by sponsoring an education program in an underdeveloped country

Why me, why I deserve one scholarship:

¤ I will make the most of this scholarship. I will not waste your or my time and energy.

¤ I put more thought and effort into this application than most of the other applicants

¤ I am already successful, I will be even more successful and from what I’ve seen you want to be associated with successful people Eben.

I will give you one more reason for choosing me, Eben. I will pass it on. As soon as the results of my participation in the program will start to bear fruits, I will sponsor another person that you and I chose together, to be a part of this or other similar program.

Eben, this way or some other way we will be in touch!

Best regards,

Sorin Raduta, waiting for your answer at the special e-mail address

What Is Success?

What Is Success?
by Ralph Waldo Emerson

To laugh often and much;

To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;

To earn the approbation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends;

To appreciate beauty;

To find the best in others;

To give of one's self;

To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;

To have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation;

To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived -

This is to have succeeded.

Not a single word about money or material wealth. This makes me wonder: was he naive or was he right?

Epiphany no. 2 – Success Is the Result of Being Proactive

Starting with Internet Marketing and trying to make some money online have been a humbling experience for me.

First of all I realized how little I know about Internet and how it can be used to create better economical conditions. Secondly, when I decided to try Internet Marketing, I had all these brilliant ideas about domain names. I can’t say that I believed that I was the only brilliant individual on the planet but I still believed that some of my ideas were original. Well…. Other people, actually many other people, also have brilliant ideas (so disappointing). And these people had something more than that – They were more proactive than I was. These people with the same brilliant ideas took action long before I did.

This is when I really understood:

In order to be successful it is not enough to have brilliant ideas. To be successful you have to be proactive. You must take quick, maybe even immediate, action on your ideas. There is no other way to success.

This is not only true for making money online. If you want to be successful in your relationship you need to proactively take care of your relationship. If you want to find the right partner you must go looking for him or her. If you want to have happy, well-functioning children you have to be a proactive parent, not a reactive parent. And of course - if you want to be successful with money you must look for and act on opportunities proactively.

And through this epiphany I become again brilliant AND proactive enough to register this fantastic domain:

Epiphany no. 1 – To Get It You Have to Name It

What is success? What does it mean?

SUCCESS – SUCCESS - SUCCESS

Everybody wants it. Why? What is it?

These questions bounced in my head more and more. I know there are lots of books about success out there. I even read some of them but I also want to find my own words to define it. I think that I came to a point where it started to make more sense to me. And as I started to put the pieces of the puzzle together I even found these definitions that described some of my own conclusions as well:

# S: (n) success (an event that accomplishes its intended purpose) "let's call heads a success and tails a failure"; "the election was a remarkable success for the Whigs"

# S: (n) success (an attainment that is successful) "his success in the marathon was unexpected"; "his new play was a great success"

# S: (n) success (a state of prosperity or fame) "he is enjoying great success"; "he does not consider wealth synonymous with success"

# S: (n) achiever, winner, success, succeeder (a person with a record of successes) "his son would never be the achiever that his father was"; "only winners need apply"; "if you want to be a success you have to dress like a success"

(source: http://wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=success)

So it seems to be like this:

Success is a concept with two components. One of the components is absolute, is a constant. Success is accomplishment. Success is always that. The other component is relative. It is the content of the accomplishment. It is what you accomplish. This is very changeable and it can differ from person to person (when we use an internal frame of reference) and from culture to culture (when we use an internal frame of reference)

So what was my epiphany after understanding all this?

It’s simple, almost trivial – if you want to be successful you need to describe what you want to be successful with. To get it you have to name it first!

Epiphanies

In December 2008 I decided that I wanted to do something about my family’s financial situation. We are not rich moneywise but we have a good life. Both me and my wife work. We only have one child. We have some loans to pay because we studied but it is something we can easily handle. We are healthy (so we ARE really rich).

However, for 1,5 years ago I decided that I want to do something different and started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with the goal to compete in Brazil before October 2009. As 2009 was knocking on my door it became clearer and clearer that more money would make it easier for me to reach my goal without thinking that much about how it affects my family financially. I also realized that, as probably most of you, I wouldn’t mind having more money into my bank account. Those money would allow me and my family do have more fun. So I started to look into some business opportunities and soon I discovered Internet Marketing and the hype about making money online.

In December 2008 I gave myself 90 days to take action in some direction. During these 90 days I learned a lot and I also had some Epiphanies. For many people these will mean nothing. Some people had these epiphanies before me and other people might see them as nothing important or so self-evident that they are not worthy to name. For me they were important and I want to share them with those of you who might find them interesting and, who knows, even life changing.

And I will also share with you my “Money Adventure” almost in real time. I look forward to share all these with you and I hope you will also share some comments with me. Good or bad, it doesn’t matter. Just put your thought into words and share them. Thank you!

PS Just in case you wander if my story is true or not you can take a look at the blog I started in October 2007. And here you’ll see the day I decided to make a change in my financial situation.

An epiphany is the sudden realization or comprehension of the (larger) essence or meaning of something. Or also known as a big moment of EUREKA! The term is used in either a philosophical or literal sense to signify that the claimant has "found the last piece of the puzzle and now sees the whole picture," or has new information or experience, often insignificant by itself, that illuminates a deeper or numinous foundational frame of reference.
